The day after Trump gave a marathon 7-hour deposition in New York in the Letitia James ‘witch hunt’ case against The Trump Organization, Trump gave a rousing speech to the NRA in Indianapolis where he pledged his continued full commitment to preserving the Second Amendment on April 14th. Trump of course used the occasion to run through his laundry list of achievements while president but in this address at least he seemed to offer more future-oriented statements than usual.

Trump is a Hit; Pence Not So Much

We’re all accustomed to seeing Trump tote one amazing event after another. The juice, if any, came when Mike Pence took the stage — in his home state of Indiana — before Trump and was greeted with boos. Listen here. Warning: In perusing these links, some media outlets either toned down the sound on the boos or mixed with healthier cheers.

Trump noted that the first major endorsement he received in 2015 came from the NRA. He thanked them vociferously for it saying, “I will be your loyal friend and fearless champion once again.” Unlike his former Vice President, Pence, there has been no love lost between Trump and the NRA. We hope you all were able to tune in.

Speaking of playing games with media assets, below is the link — the only link — we could locate for the NRA speech. It should be video of the full address but YouTube will truncate assets willy-nilly.

Trump spent seven hours being deposed in NYC just the day before this event. Who is not amazed when witnessing this man’s stamina and ability to withstand seven years of withering attacks, mountains of multi-million dollar lawsuits while maintaining a blistering pace on the campaign trail for the third time? We did not see much coverage of the Trump deposition in New York story, but Gateway Pundit covers it here, in case you’re interested.

Save Our Legal System from Marxist Barbarians…

Last Friday, Trump dropped another policy gem, “Restoring Justice to America.” He calls out Soros prosecutors and the ‘Marxist barbarians’ who ‘seek to destroy our system of justice — ‘one of the greatest achievements of western civilization.’ Trumps wants to appoint ‘100 ferocious warriors’ to U.S. Attorney positions while seeking to end ‘selective enforcement’ of laws that ‘violate civil rights’ and allow criminals to go free. If Trump is elected, he will set up a task force to ‘end police state tactics that target conservatives and Christians’ and that will ‘support our right to self-defense.’ Clink the image above to hear or click here.

Watch for more Trump policy videos. It’s worth every second of the short three minutes it takes him to communicate policy.

Oops, I Did It Again!

Trump launched Series 2 of his NFT trading cards last week too, and guess what happened?

It sold out within a day. Again. He made $4.6 million. MSM came after him for that claim. (The Independent pans here, Newsweek puts down here, and Forbes — unbelievably provides more context and decent background on Trump’s NFT venture here.) See his Facebook post below. Yes, he is congratulating himself. And, yes these cards are no longer available. We missed out on Trump as George Washington, Trump grilling hot dogs, and Trump as a rock star in full leather.

Endorsements Trackers are as Predictive as Polls: Guess Who Leads?

Nate Silver’s 538 (or Five Thirty Eight) statistical and data analysis firm that has been covering presidential races for the last two cycles shows Trump with a commanding lead in the endorsement race. Not only that but 538 provides historical data dating back to 1972 showing that the person ahead in endorsements wins the nomination.

SOURCES: “THE PARTY DECIDES,” NEWS REPORTS, POLLS – Fivethirtyeight.com (April 19, 2023)

According to 538, “The endorsement leader is determined using FiveThirtyEight’s 2016 endorsement-point scale for 1972-2016 and FiveThirtyEight’s 2020 endorsement-point scale for 2020. The polling leader is determined by the average of all national polls completed within 30 days of the Iowa caucuses. If a pollster surveyed the field multiple times during this period, only the most recent poll is included in the average.”

Not to rub it in, this is how Fox and MSNBC depicted the endorsement race:

DeSantis is touring foreign countries right now – as Trump is making the rounds on his turf in Florida. He was asked by a reporter in Japan how he felt about the endorsements Trump has been racking up. DeSantis gave one of the most bizarre responses (with the exception of the John Dean scream) ever caught on camera. A preview:

See if you agree. The New York Post picked it up: Click for video and article.

But wait! There’s More…!

GOPers in Lee County, Florida were apparently floored that Trump graced a ‘county’ GOP event with his presence this week. As always, it was a beautiful event and another reassuring speech from our favorite president (have to say at least once in every newsletter) who rarely disappoints. (And, when he does, it’s short-lived and easily forgotten.) You can watch his full speech here: https://www.c-span.org/video/?527579-1/president-trump-remarks-lee-county-lincoln-reagan-dinner

(Note: GoDaddy only allows embeds for YouTube videos although they pretend otherwise.)

Afterward Trump bought pizza for everyone including local police at the Downtown House of Pizza in Ft. Myers. Is this jut a form of vote-buying? I’m sure our DOJ is on it. People were nevertheless pretty darned happy.

“Letters to Trump” Coffee Table Book Debuts at #1 on Amazon

Nothing like burying the lede, right? I thought would do reverse chronological order and run with this exciting news first but then decided against it.

In yet another big marketing win for Donald Trump, his latest book, “Letters to Trump” debuted at #1 at official launch yesterday. Trump drove demand and pre-sales of the book soared!

As you might assume from the title, the book is a compilation of letters written to him by famous and not-so-famous over the course of 50 years. Trump includes letters he has written to people as well. It should not surprise anyone who has been following Donald Trump as I have (my book on him here) that he maintained a habit of writing personal letters over the course of his life. This is true of most presidents as it happens notably President George H.W. Bush.

Since the advent of pen and paper, people have been prolific letter writers. Trump is in good company with figures from antiquity on such as Paul of Tarsus, Pliny the Elder, Elizabeth the First, Mary Queen of Scotts, Queen Victoria and Eleanor Roosevelt to name a few. Winston Churchill wrote to his mother Jenny Jerome, his American mother for years. “My Darling Winston” is a compilation of those exchanges.

His book blurb states:

LETTERS TO TRUMP reveals part of the incredible private collection of correspondence between President Trump and the countless world leaders, celebrities, athletes and business leaders who shaped the United States, and the world!”–

We hope it goes a long way toward waking people up to the fact that Donald J. Trump was very well liked by celebrities and prominent people — and for good reason — in the decades preceding 2015 when he ran for president as, mind you, a Republican.

His J6 song hit #1 on Billboard shortly after release and just a few short weeks later, Donald Trump achieved another milestone with this new book in record time. Congratulations, Mr. President!

Two Key Trump Interviews

Of interest, Trump hawked “Letters to Trump” in two key interviews this week prior to the official launch. One with Mark Levin, Fox News, at Mar-a-Lago (pre-recorded, aired 4/24), and the other with Greg Kelly of Newsmax on 4/25.

Mark Levin conducted this ‘interview of interviews’ just ‘minutes before the indictment of Trump came down’. Levin says, ‘this book is fantastic; it’s actually quite amazing…all these people love you.’ “It’s a book of letters, but it’s a fantastic history.”

After explaining why so many celebrities like Oprah, with three letters in the book, went from extolling him to quite the opposite, Trump wastes no time launching salvos against how the country is run now under Biden citing Ukraine, and Afghanistan. Trump underlines here: “We’re living in the most dangerous place it’s ever been.” Click below for more.

Newsmax host, Greg Kelly, also meeting with the former president at his home at Mar-a-Lago, opens his interview with shocking breaking news that Tucker Carlson ‘was interviewing you two weeks ago and now he’s gone.” Trump of course addresses saying, “You don’t know if it’s a firing. Maybe he want to be on his own.”

Not that Trump ever needs prodding, but Kelly zeroes in on recent evidence that the Biden family received millions from China resulting from Rep. James Comer’s oversight committee revelations, asking: “We know from Comer that the Biden family took money and said his family didn’t take any money, he lied on that debate stage, do you think we need a special prosecutor for Joe Biden?” (At 5:00 minutes in.)

“Well, I think everyone knows what happened. I asked Chris Wallace during the debate…and Chris Wallace wouldn’t let me even talk about it…What about the $3.5 million coming in from that the Mayor of Moscow’s?…I said let’s talk about it…and now we’re talking about it. How about all the money coming from Afghanistan or China?…it’s not like they’re doing anything for it…you’re not working…the money is being spread out all over the Biden family…”

“I don’t know about a special prosecutor. I have a special prosecutor. I have a guy so biased that hates Trump so much… Joe Biden has done stuff that is so bad…they put these nice people in there. It’s really a disgrace…Here’s good news: the people see it and that’s why my poll numbers are so high even against Biden,” replied the former president.
