Trump storms Iowa amid momentous surge in polls…

Maquoketa/Dubuque, Iowa-September 20, 2023–There has not been any recent indictments to account for President Trump’s continued momentous surge in poll numbers. He is not only 50-60 points with primary voters but there are credible, i.e. liberal media-leaning, polls showing Trump up on Biden nationally by two points. It’s enough to give CBS and other outlets cause for ‘concern.’

Trump told audiences, “We’ve been like a rocket ship. The polls have been incredible. We’re up 60 points against the Republicans. Who would have thought they would crash and burn?”

As a result Trump has pivoted to general election mode. He is skipping the second RNC presidential debate as he did the first debate next week opting instead to address striking UAW workers in Detroit. No endorsement from that organization has been made. Reportedly the head of the UAW does not like Mr. Trump but it’s notable he has not made an early endorsement for Biden either.

And, even though as of this writing, Ron DeSantis fell to fifth place in NH polls, Trump takes nothing for granted and will continue to pound him on the campaign trail as he did in two campaign events in Iowa this week.

DeSantis nevertheless appeared before cameras this week to complain that Trump is not running a conventional campaign. It’s yet another sour grape in a bunch of sour grapes. His formerly ballyhooed big donors like Ken Griffin removed support this week too.

The two stops in Iowa this week — in Jackson County and Dubuque — followed on the heels of the staggering reception he received in Ames, Iowa last Saturday to attend the Iowa-Iowa State football game. The stadium went wild as he entered like a superstar. Other Republicans made appearances including Rod DeSantis. Fox covered them, the undercard, but not Trump.

His speeches at both Iowa venues this week were well received and Trump was in fine form for both. Trump gave virtually the same speech at both events. In Maquoketa he used a briefing books and in Dubuque he was on teleprompter. Oh, and he hugged the flag as entered the stage in Dubuque.

Trump did an imitation of Biden reading from a briefing book, calling out reporters from the Fake News names only to dish pre-canned sound bytes.

He also made a timely reference to his sit-down interview with NBC’s Kristen Welker, the new host of its Sunday morning Meet the Press program. She inaugurated her first show with the Trump interview having just replaced Chuck Todd – or Sleepy Chuck Todd as Trump labels him

“Kristen Welker was okay – she kept interrupting me. And Megyn Kelly — she was pretty nasty — boy she became nasty all of a sudden. Did you watch the whole thing?”

Trump took questions in Maquoketa. One man seemed to catch him off-guard with this, “No man could endure what you have. Do you realize God is behind you?”

For once Trump seemed a bit taken aback and in a rambling answer, he replied, “We endured so much. Think about how bad these people are….Washington is a corrupt place. I do it because I feel real love and appreciation.”

The Country is Finished if We Don’t Win

Trump, though late arriving from the Jackson County speech to Dubuque, took the podium at about 4:30 pm EST.

This was Trump’s eighth trip to Iowa in this campaign season. He told the crowd, “I just might come back for Iowa caucus night.”

It was clear from both events that Trump was there to muster as much support in the Iowa caucus as he could prior to January 15th. Trump lost the first Iowa caucus in 2016 to Texas Senator Ted Cruz. He exhorted people to mark their calendars, get friends and and family to the polls, and to work with the Trump campaign on the ground to bring in a win.

About fifteen minutes into his remarks in Dubuque Trump broke into a recital of The Snake Poem which he rarely does anymore but it always enhances the proceedings. In case you have not seen it, here is video:

The Snake Poem recited by Donald J. Trump:

Trump seemed to underscore the ‘we’ in We the People in his recent campaign remarks. “This will be our second term because it is our second term…it’s going to be much bigger this way — it shows how badly they are running this country…I could be on a beautiful beach now like Joe Biden, and I’d get my feet through the sand! But I’m here,” he told the crowd.

Trump ran through his extensive list of wins — stopping for his famous rambling asides and anecdotes and funny bits — he managed to accomplish for our country while in office. (See end of article for full speech.)

Toward the end of his hour-long remarks, Trump wanted the audience to know of his plans for the future. He concluded with a long list of statements that began with this:

“When we become the 47th President of the United States — because this is a movement — I will obliterate the deep state…

I will rebuild FBI and DOJ and make fair again.

And even before I arrive at Oval Office, WE will settle the horrible war between Ukraine and Russia.

“People ask me what side of the Ukraine-Russia war I’m on, and I say, “I’m on the side of stopping all those people from being killed, that’s the only side I’m on.”

He continued…

I will prevent world war three – we’re very close to it now.

I will end Bidenomics.

I will cancel Joe Biden’s preposterous EV mandate.

I will end woke transgender – inappropriate content on our children.

I will NOT allow the mutilation of our children. It’s really sexual mutilation.

I will not give one penny to any school that has a vaccine mandate or a mask mandate.

I will close the Department of Education and move it back to the states.

I will instruct all federal agencies to cease sex or gender transition at any age.

I will declare any hospital or healthcare provider that participates in the chemical or physical mutilation, federal funds will be terminate immediately.

I will keep men out of women’s sports.

I will restore the Trump ban on transgender in the military.

I will secure our elections – our goal will be paper ballots and voter I.D.

“The USA is a mess; our economy is out of control and our currency is crashing. It won’t happen with me just like Russia would never have invaded Ukraine and China would never think about taking over Taiwan. We are a failing nation. We are a nation in decline.”

  • We will expel the war mongers from our government…
  • We will drive out the communists, and fascists…
  • We will rout the fake news media…
  • We will end illegal immigration just as we had it three years ago…
  • The forgotten man and women will be forgotten now longer…
  • With your love and help will will make america great again…god bless you Iowa!!

“You must show up on Monday, January 15th to your caucus,” said Trump.
