Not only did Donald Trump’s net worth jump from about $4 billion to $8 billion in a week when Truth Social finally went public — a few days later he rolled out his God Bless the U.S.A. Bible during Holy Week…
Let’s count the ways God Blesses the U.S.A….
God Bless the U.S.A. because our favorite president’s ship came in when DWAC shareholders approved its merger with Trump Media and Technology Group (or his Truth Social entity). Trump owns 58% of those shares. It opened Tuesday, March 26 on Nasdaq (he deliberately chose not to go public on the NYSE) under – get this! – the symbol DJT!
Having one’s initials as a stock symbol has to be the height of brilliant branding.
The stock price rose 68% in two days of trading with a high of $66.22. On paper that put Trump’s windfall estimated at $5.2 billion. Yesterday the stock was trading around $64.50.
CBS News reported that senior portfolio manager at NewEdge Wealth, Ben Emons, “DJT has all the makings of a meme stock, given the Trump news factor. For global macro investors, DJT will be a proxy for how markets price Trump 2.0 policies.”
In case you’re not familiar with the term meme stock, it’s a stock that, according to Investopedia, has ‘gained viral popularity due to heightened social sentiment.’ Translation: The Deplorables drove the stock price up, they are driving up trading volume, and nothing to see here. It’s just Truth Social.
The SEC did not greenlight the merger for two-and-a-half years which Truth Social CEO, Devin Nunes, called out as at least highly unusual suggesting that the agency had been politicized.

Trump, said on Truth right after DJT went public, “I LOVE TRUTH. I LOVE THE TRUTH SOCIAL PLATFORM.”
We have always applauded Donald Trump’s boundless energy. His commitment to seeing a job through is unparalleled. No one embodies the American Dream at this moment in time more than our fearless former president. The sentiment in his post below is almost heartbreaking:
For Trump, who likes to say, “remember bumpy roads lead to beautiful places,” the merger happened despite all the roadblocks thrown at him most notably the lawfare in four jurisdictions (with the most costly in terms of monetary fines in New York) but also the fact that the SEC held the merger up for unstated reasons for months and months.

The serendipitous news of the merger collided with the drama surrounding Trump’s deadline of this past Monday to pay the fine to the State of New York or face seizure of his properties in New York State. Letitia James, New York’s corrupt Attorney General, has floated (or is it, flouted?) her intention to seize Trump real estate starting with his Westchester Seven Springs estate. Donald Trump caught a legal break at a time when it seems nearly all rulings favor our Soviet-style courts. It came Monday when New York’s appellate court stepped in and reduced the fine by to $175 million. A crumb. But James was reportedly throwing fits in her office over it.
Trump, who had reportedly raised the cash for the higher dollar amount but had said last week was having trouble raising it, told reporters he would be ‘honored’ to pay and when asked in what form, he quipped, Cash!
Importantly, the appellate court allowed the Trump Organization to continue doing business in that state – something the Engeron ruling had prohibited – with the ability to fully appeal Engeron’s ruling.
Trump cannot legally cash in his DJT shares for six months unless shareholders grant a waiver. He indicated over the weekend as right up against the deadline before the fine was reduced that he had the cash.

If it felt like the best karma ever witnessed that Trump’s company went public this week right when New York State had his back up against the wall with that unprecedented and unreasonable fine, it is a bit of payback for Donald Trump to launch a bible – during Holy Week no less – when the media excoriated him for holding up a bible the day he walked from the White House to St. John’s Episcopal Church at the height of the George Floyd riots that swept through every city.
Below right, Donald Trump, flanked by top staff in his White House, walked from the White House to St. John’s Church, crossing Lafayette Park which was given over to BLM protesters after the media accused him of ‘hiding in his bunker.’ He spoke to the press briefly from the podium in the White House briefing room and then he walked to St. John’s Church and Trump posing (left) with a bible in front of the church, the media said it was an insincere photo op.

Donald Trump never goes a day without some form of media firestorm erupting in his wake. His TMTG win combined with ‘hawking’ a bible in the same week and holy week at that has them running for the shelter of mother’s little helper.
We’re inured to the hyperbole. Our eyes glaze over when we hear their never-ending invective.

God Bless the U.S.A. because even though we may perceive we are a ‘nation in decline’ as Trump says in rallies, he was able to eke out these marketplace wins! He’s still out on the stump.
We still have free speech and it may be thanks to him starting Truth Social (combined with Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter, now X) although we are still under severe attack.
We still freely assemble. We still go to church. And, for now, we can still vote.
